John Wright Reviews 'Acheron'

Overall Impression:

Darkly ethereal and slightly oppressive, elitefitrea’s Acheron is an atmospheric work of Post-Industrial Alt. Rock with a rich melodic core.  Lyrically grappling with aspects of mortality, elitefitrea’s gritty but deeply melodic vocals blend with abstract guitar tones and thunderous synth sounds to bring Acheron's apocalyptic imagery and fatalistic narrative to sonorously vibrant life.

Strongest Point(s):

Excellent mix - the sound is incredibly immersive and detail-oriented.  The lead vocal qualities are honestly stellar for the genre - perfectly overdriven while remaining melodically functional in a balance that's very emotionally evocative.  The song feels very much like a labor of love, with the amount of creativity and personal investment apparent in the sound indicating a very passionate creative energy at its core.  Phenomenal finish - the feel shift around 5:37 is chilling, and made even more impactful by the lack of resolution.  Killer work!

Audience Appeal:

Fans of Industrial music in all it's variations will find very much to enjoy within elitefitrea’s sound - and the melodically expressive tone and timbre of Acheron masterfully manages to fit fully within the genre's designations while remaining accessible to a wide demographic!  Listeners with an appreciation of intricate sound crafting and darkly reflective musical tones would do well to seek out Acheron post-haste.  Thanks for the chance to listen in! - Jon W.
